Cooperative Mobility Program Collection home page

The Cooperative Mobility Program (CMP) is an international research program established in 1995 by MIT and the Auto Governors of the World Economic Forum. The program supports a new vision: a sustainable, multi-modal transportation system that will provide the mobility necessary to foster global economic development, while remaining compatible with social needs and environmental protection. The program brings together transportation scholars from MIT and other universities with transportation specialists and sponsors to explore current and future issues of worldwide mobility.

CMP researchers contributed to a major new study of worldwide mobility trends, commissioned by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) This study, Mobility 2001, is the first step of a multiyear research enterprise devoted to developing a global vision of greater sustainable mobility.

CMP is a program of the Center for Technology, Policy, and Industrial Development.
