| Abstract: | This thesis proposes an extension to the Java programming language in which a program may specify that an object can change its class at runtime. The project proposes a programmer interface for using this new capability. Given the proposed interface, a particular strategy for implementing the interface is presented. The JVM portion of this strategy is detailed and implemented on top of an existing JVM. The modified JVM is tested using scenarios designed to verify the new runtime class mutability capability. |
