Abstract: The nutrient requirements of soils using in agriculture for crop production were examined to determine the needs of a robotic system used to detect and regulate the nutrition levels of the soil. Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium levels, along with pH, were chosen as the most important factors for regulation. Based on these four soil qualities, the basic functions the robot needs to be able to perform were determined.
