dc.description.abstractDuring the Twentieth Century industrial production has largely replaced the hand of the craftsman. As a result most modern buildings lack the qualities of craftsmanship. This thesis seeks to identify and define these qualities, speculates on their importance to the human psyche, and suggests ways that they can be adapted to modern design and construction techniques.en_US
