This course features an image gallery that illustrates and supports lecture topics ranging from "The End of Prosperity" to "Legacies for Postwar America." In addition a a detailed timeline of key events is available in the study materials section and a comprehensive set of related links in support of course readings and discussions are available. This course also features archived syllabi from various semesters.
The Great Depression and World War II permanently changed American politics and society. Topics include: the Great Crash, the New Deal, Roosevelt, the home front, the Normandy Invasion, and the atomic bomb. Explores those events through film, novels, newspapers, and other historical documents.
