Abstract
is a Department of War (DoW) federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) operated by MIT. Under a prime contract with the Department of the Air Force (USAF), Lincoln Laboratory conducts research and development on behalf of the military services, the Office of the Secretary of War, the intelligence community, and other government agencies. Lincoln Laboratory's mission is to advance technology in support of national security. Research and development conducted at the laboratory covers a broad range of domains, including space systems and technology, air and missile defense technology, cyber security, communication systems, bioengineering, maritime defense technologies, microelectronics, air traffic control, weather sensing, environmental monitoring, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR).
