Abstract
During fiscal year 2026, the MIT Alumni Association (MITAA) celebrated more than 59 percent of the Institute's alumni engaging with the Institute and with one another. In addition, the Association's annual giving efforts led to a record $94.6 million, with MIT experiencing a modest year-over-year increase in donors. The MITAA worked throughout the year to ensure that MIT's graduates felt welcome in the "big tent" of their community, offering opportunities to participate in events, programming, communications, volunteering, and annual giving. The year marked several highlights, including a global symposium series for graduatedegreed alumni, the 10th year of the MIT 24-Hour Challenge giving day, and continued visits by Institute President Sally Kornbluth-who was honored in the fall with honorary membership in the Alumni Association-with alumni communities around the nation and the world. The Association continued to partner with Institute senior leaders, volunteers, and committed alumni to advocate for the MIT mission and the transformative impact of research and higher education in the US and internationally. This consequential year also marked the conclusion of the MITAA's Strategic Plan 2024-26 (SP26). With the next fiscal year serving as an "SP26+" and the MITAA beginning to plan for its next era, alumni can look forward to continuing meaningful participation in the life of their MIT community. *The MIT Alumni Association in fiscal year 2026 measured the engagement of the Institute's alumni in four ways in alignment with the alumni engagement metrics model defined by the CASE Insights on Alumni Engagement: communications, experiential, philanthropic, and virtual.
