Abstract
this is a study about learning and doing through the interpretation and use of design references: how to take a reference (a building, an image, some text) and learn from it. It is necessary to understand about how the reference is generated (what makes it what it is) and to understand which attributes make it useful because then the new information can be used to do something else. This volume includes study and implementation of design references from all of the above categories. The work is in the form of analytical sketches and design projections of a museum for the Iroquois Indian.
