Abstract
This thesis introduces a novel topology for capacitive isolation in switched-capacitor DCDC converters, taking inspiration from previous work1. The research endeavors to develop a unique switched-capacitor topology that enables isolation between input and output voltages. By integrating elements of the Cockcroft-Walton generator into the Dickson converter framework, the proposed design seeks to leverage the inherent advantages of switched-capacitor converters—such as compactness, lightweight design, and higher efficiency at low to moderate power levels—over traditional magnetic converters. Additionally, the incorporation of isolation in the switched-capacitor converter architecture offers enhanced flexibility, allowing for selective power processing and more precise regulation. This feature is particularly beneficial in applications requiring dynamic power management and improved efficiency in power conversion.
