Abstract
The primary role of Chancellor for Academic Advancement (CAA) remains one of outreach: to alumni and alumnae, to parents, and to individuals or organizations that share MIT's principles and priorities, with the goal of sharing information about MIT priorities, gathering information about donor interests for the President and her senior team, and fostering philanthropic partnerships. In that role, the CAA travels both domestically and internationally, as well as hosting prospects during campus visits. In building such partnerships, the CAA is often involved in all stages of the process: from qualification, to cultivation, to solicitation, to closing, to stewardship, and back to cultivation.
