Abstract
A study of B[subscript c][subscript +] → K[superscript +]K[superscript -]π[superscript +] decays is performed for the first time using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb[superscript -1] collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. Evidence for the decay B[subscript c][superscript +] → χ[subscript c0](→K[superscript +]K[superscript -])π[superscript +] is reported with a significance of 4.0 standard deviations, giving σ(B[subscript c][superscript +])/σ(B[superscript +]) × B(B[subscript c][superscript +] → χ[subscript c0]π[superscript +])=(9.8[subscript -3.0][superscript +3.4](stat)±0.8(syst))×10[superscript -6]. Here B denotes a branching fraction while σ(B[subscript c][superscript +]) and σ(B[superscript +]) are the production cross sections for B[subscript c][superscript +] and B[superscript +] mesons. An indication of [bar over b]c weak annihilation is found for the region m(K[superscript -]π[superscript +])<1.834 GeV/c[superscript 2], with a significance of 2.4 standard deviations.
