dc.description.abstract | The process of Knowledge Management is the process of being able to document, store, and communicate data and information so that it can be applied to a company’s knowledge. It is often used as a way to help educate employees, give employees access to information, and store knowledge in an organized format. The primary goal of Knowledge Management is to be able to efficiently get the right information and knowledge to the right person in a timely manner.
Knowledge Management has become an institutional tool to help businesses retain information and easily pass on information to an organization’s employees. It has become a fundamental way for employees to train and learn in a tactful manner. This thesis will highlight the best practices for a multi-national company to follow: from creating the right Knowledge Management System to house information, to incorporating Enterprise Social Networks to promote communication, to establishing initiatives focusing on networking and innovation To properly understand each of these different aspects of Knowledge Management, we will highlight different cases from various multinational companies on successful (and unsuccessful) tactics used. These case studies are meant to show how different industries highlight the do’s and don’t of how to successfully implement Knowledge Management into a multi-national company, and how to use Knowledge Management to build a successful culture. | |
