Existing technologies that support online music collaboration are either overly simple in their capabilities, or may require complex setup and installation. Truly real-time collaborative cross-platform “music systems” may only offer a few, quite simple features. Meanwhile, fully expressive collaborative music systems rarely offer cross-platform support, such as support for desktop and mobile collaboration. MakeMu, designed with musicians in mind, proposes an expressive and cross-platform alternative. The MakeMu web application is fully-featured, and offers a grid-based, real-time collaborative music experience. By providing an intuitive platform for music producers to sketch musical ideas on their phone, with support for collaboration, MakeMu enables a novel, satisfying music composition experience.
