The Guangzhou-Shenzhen Suburban Railroad Project seeks to transform regional transportation and urban development within the Greater Bay Area by introducing suburban rail services on the Guangshen Railway (GSR). This proposal outlines a framework centered on investment sectors, innovative methods, public-private collaborations, and public welfare initiatives, all bolstered by the creation of a Joint Development Company. The report high- lights the importance of a people-first approach, station-city integration, and transit-oriented development to deliver a sustainable rail service that positively impacts local communities, businesses, and the environment. Through an analysis of current infrastructure, regional connectivity, and accessibility gaps, the proposal suggests strategies for rejuvenating the GSR and promoting eco- nomic integration. Featuring three case studies that demonstrate the current application of city-station integration and transit-oriented design principles in the region, the paper also provides three station redevelopment proposals complete with comprehensive master plans and urban design schemes that aim to offer insight and an evaluation framework for future research. This the- sis contributes to future research and policymaking by establishing a robust foundation for the sustainable development and integration of cities with sub- urban rail network in the Greater Bay Area.
