We propose data structures to describe and query streaming RFID and sensor data. Furthermore, we propose an architecture built atop these data structures to build arbitrary real-time applications. To understand the nature of these applications, we decompose such systems into four layers: Physical, Data, Filtering, and Application. We describe each layer in terms of our presented data structures, and we discuss architecture optimizations in terms of Bandwidth, Computational Capacity, and Subsystem Transparency. We provide an implementation of Track and Trace and Cold-Chain model applications to demonstrate our architecture.en_US
