dc.description.abstractThis thesis is to review lessons from worldwide experiences of privatization process for government's roles to regulate private participation in transportation infrastructures and services, to analyze current situation in Korea in context of privatization focusing on managing demand forecasts risks to deal with possible optimistic behaviors in the public and private sector under the generous government income guarantee mechanism through comparison with the case in UK, and to suggest strategic implication for the government to achieve service quality improvement from efficiency and creativity as well as expansion of transportation infrastructure and services from private participation.en_US
