dc.description.abstractWe describe in detail seven distinct areas in both public and private sectors in which a real-time computer-aided dispatch system is applicable to the allocation of scarce resources. Characteristics of a real-time computer-aided dispatch system are identified. Monetary savings and/or non-monetary advantages are presented to justify the implementation of a computer-aided dispatch system.en_US
