Modern robots are involved in sophisticated manipulations of their environment, and for that they need extensive knowledge of their surroundings. 3D mapping allows for the creation of such complex maps, and here we explore some of the options available for the creation of 3D maps. We consider using 2D and 3D sensors to see how helpful the extra information is.en_US
