The experiments described here concern an initial design for a computer system specifically for the handling of finite groups, rings, fields, semigroups, and vector spaces. The usefulness of such a system was discussed in (1). The system has been coded MAD, with certain subroutines in FAP, for the IBM 7094, and is designed to operate in a time-sharing environment.en_US
