| dc.description.abstract | This thesis will discuss the technical and artistic design of the Emonator', a novel interactive musical interface which responds to gestural input with realtime aural and visual feedback. A user interacts with the Emonator by manipulating the surface formed by a bed of rods at the top of the Emonator. The user's movements are analyzed and used to control several music and sound generation engines as well as video streams in real-time. The Emonator is an interesting musical experience for both amateur and professional musicians. It is also versatile, working well as a stand-alone interface or as part of a larger interactive experience. | en_US |
