In this thesis, I perform a systematic resolution study for di-tau pairs at the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. I performed this analysis using Monte Carlo simulated events with a Higgs boson which decays into two tau particles with initial mass mH = 90 - 500 GeV/c ² . The two daughter taus were required to then decay leptonically. I determined the dependence of the input mass on the mass resolution and total energy contribution of the electron/muon visible mass peak. For mH 120 GeV/c², a mass resolution of =/< 25% and total energy fraction of =/> 50% can be achieved.en_US
