dc.description.abstract | Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUVs) have the potential to explore and monitor oceans in unprecedented ways, but their present batteries only allow them to operate for days at a time. A team of students designed and built a gasoline-hybrid recharging system for a Remus 600 UUV to extend its operating time from three days to four weeks.
