| dc.description.abstract | We examine the notion that supermassive black holes at the centre of galaxies, such as the Milky Way, could have been seeded in the early universe by the mechanisms of hybrid inflation. Using luminosity data, we estimate the current density of supermassive black hole. We develop the formalism of the dierct integration method in hybrid inflation and obtain a power spectrum, which we try to relate to the literature. Our results do not directly show the plausibility of seeding supermassive black holes, but the shape of the power spectrum suggests that further work might yield positive results. | en_US |
