An approach to colloid physics using classical electrostatic methods is presented. Specifically, the electrical double layer is examined using computational methods. To this end, the Poisson-Boltzman equation is solved numerically for geometries corresponding to interacting clay particles. The interaction energies of double layers is calculated for several particle configurations.</dim:field>
