   <dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract">Intragastric devices are a tool which have the capability to help a great number of people around the world. However, as seen with the gastric balloon, intragastric devices also represent a danger to patients if they are designed poorly and are not studied in a variety of situations. Especially in the US there is a growing need for new and improved medical devices which can help study and treat gastric disorders such as obesity, Celiacs Disease, and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. &#xd;
&#xd;
This thesis showcases the design and possible utility of an intragastric motor controller which has the capability to remain within the stomach for long periods of time performing simple tasks or acting as a long term stomach health monitor. This device was designed using a custom PCB which would be powered by a Li-ion battery and would be able to maneuver a linear actuator actuated by a stepper motor. This device would then be placed through a simple example experiment to show its utility and feasibility</dim:field>
