Functional requirements are established for the pack. An overview of cell chemistry, pack size and configuration selection process to meet these requirements is given. Next, the mechanical and electrical design and analysis of the major pack components is discussed. Finally, a transient thermal model of the pack is established to guide design choices about cooling.</dim:field>
