   <dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="en_US">Let G be a connected complex reductive Lie group. We propose a certain bijection between the set of dominant integral weights of G, and the set of pairs consisting of a nilpotent coadjoint orbit and a finite-dimensional irreducible representation of the isotropy group of the orbit. A constructive proof of this bijection is given for the groups GL(n, C), and the bijection is established by direct calculation in a handful of particular groups. Partial progress is made on a general proof for Sp(2n, C).</dim:field>
