This text is required.

All homework sets are due at the beginining of class on the assigned due date. You may work together on the problem sets but you are required to write up your own solution and code. Students will make oral presentations on the homework.

Report

A report of about 15 typed - written pages on some topic in applied superconductivity is required. This report should be concise and include the following:

(a) use of some material from this course
(b) a review of current literature on the topic
(c) assessment of the impact of the high - temperature superconductors on the topic
(d) a critical review of alternate technologies

The timetable for the report is as follows:

Lecture 8: Topic chosen and some references
Lecture 17: Outline of report, including references
Lecture 24: Report due

Grades

30% Project (20% written report and 10% presentation)
70% Problem Sets
