Abstract
This thesis examines how land-endowed nonprofits can optimize their assets to better serve their mission and unlock value for the communities they serve. After exploring various real estate strategies and partnership structures among nonprofit, for-profit, private, and public entities related to nonprofit land use, the thesis will apply its lessons to a detailed case study of Cambridge Young Women’s Christian Association to inform short and long-term real estate policies that compliment and maximize the organization’s mission impact.
