A self-triggering readout for a time projection chamber (TPC) is presented, with applications to novel forms of data acquisition for high energy physics application. The construction and initial testing of the readout electronics are described, as well as the readout implementation in a prototype drift chamber. Tracking and range information for 800 alpha particle events is compared with theory as a preliminary confirmation of correct readout operation.en_US
