In this thesis, we develop SignalDB, a framework for composing signal processing applications from primitive stream and signal processing operators. SignalDB allows the user to focus on the signal processing task and avoid needlessly spending time on learning a particular application programming interface (API). We use SignalDB to express acoustic and pressure transient methods for water pipeline monitoring as query plans consisting of signal processing operators.en_US
