Syllabus

Text
Genetics: from Genes to Genomes, L.H. Hartwell, L. Hood, M.L. Goldberg, A.E. Reynolds, L.M. Silver and R.C. Veres, McGraw-Hill, 2000. These books are on sale at the COOP. Several copies will also be on reserve at the library.
Grading

Each one-hour exam counts 100 points, the final counts 200 points, and the seven graded problem sets together count 100 points, all totaling 600 points. For each student, the lowest 100-point block (one hour-exam, half the final, or all problem sets) will be deleted automatically, leaving 500 points as the maximum final score, from which the final letter grade will be derived. Because one block can be dropped, no makeup exams will be given.
