The two software packages discussed here are used by the students for the course. Both manuals were written by the instructor of the course.

1. Manual for the Program ES2d (PDF) for solving the 2-dimensional Laplace equation. This is the recommended code for solving the numerical problems in the homeworks.

2. Getting started with the Commercial Program, Maxwell (PDF). Maxwell is a fancy graphically based finite-element code but it is cumbersome to use and the learning curve is steep.
