Quiz 1 (PDF) |
Quiz 1 will test your knowledge of material similar to the contents of homeworks 1-3.
There will be 3-4 problems covering:
1. Simple applications of Newton's Laws, concepts and applications of variational calculus to mechanics
2. Setting up of Lagrangian for mechanical systems and obtaining Euler-Lagrange equations
3. Identification of constants of motion
4. Concept and application of generalized coordinates
The quiz will be similar to Quiz 1 given during Fall 2002 (PDF) or Fall 2003 (PDF) semesters. |

Quiz 2 will cover material similar to the contents of homeworks 4-7.
There will be questions on the material from lectures 8-14 (no questions on motion in non-inertial frames).

The final exam will cover material from the whole course with emphasis on the last third of the course.
There will be 3 problems based on material taught during lectures 1-14 and 3 problems based on material taught during lectures 15-23.
