NOTE: There will be only one out of two Lectures and no Recitation during weeks with Lab checkoffs. Recitations are optional and are held in weeks without checkoffs. The topic and location will be announced via e-mail.

Prerequisites

  • Basic Electronics course - 6.071 or equivalent.
  • Classical feedback systems course - 2.010 or equivalent.
  • Note: C-programming is no longer required.

Electronics Kit

Required: Each student must purchase an electronic parts kit containing resistors, capacitors, op amps, etc. for $35. Students will receive forms to bring to the Cashier's Office to pay this fee. The student keeps these electronic components. Students will not be issued kits until this fee has been paid.

There are no quizzes or exams. The lab grades will depend upon the lab report/pre-lab and upon an individual oral checkoff with the teaching staff. The pre-lab will be due the week before the lab itself.

Note: The course this year will have 5 labs and no final project.

Grad Students: To Receive G Credit

While the course is now an undergraduate elective at the senior level, graduate students may receive G credit by requesting this from the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Officer.
