Closed-circuit television and other surveillance systems are commonplace in busy, high-traffic areas. However, when investigators need to use these systems to search through recorded footage, these systems’ clunky interfaces and tools can create hours of work just in organizing footage.
The Forensic Video Exploitation and Analysis (FOVEA) suite of tools, developed at the Laboratory in
response to the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, is an easy to set up and use solution to this problem.
