Abstract
In a year marked by serious financial challenges at MIT, the MIT Libraries responded to a second year of significant budget cuts with strategically aligned changes, informed by shifts in research practices and user behavior, while also continuing to advance priorities associated with discovery, support for data and computational research, and open scholarship. Libraries staff navigated the major changes necessitated by budget reductions, including layoffs, with professionalism, care, and extraordinary commitment to colleagues and patrons.
