Syllabus

This course will cover selected topics on the general organization of the brain, and on brain development. We will try to include a session for brain dissection (sheep brain).

There will be readings assigned for each session, and a series of questions to help guide your readings.

Class time will consist of discussions of the topics related to the readings.

We expect class participation by students: try to prepare answers to the questions before each class session.

The final grade will be based on performance on:

  • A mid-term exam (20%).
  • A final exam (40%).
  • Classroom quizzes and class participation (20%).
  • Homework assignments (20%).

For student assignments, see the study materials and assignments sections.
