In 1913, the National American Woman Suffrage Association published a broadside by Jane Addams, of about 740 words, titled “Women and Public Housekeeping.” A broadside is a poster, printed on one side, to be distributed or hung, and then thrown away. In the contemporary context, it is something like a flyer, maybe a blog post. In the world of publishing, broadsides are historical “ephemera.”en_US
