Abstract
© 2017 IOP Publishing Ltd and Sissa Medialab srl. We discuss a method to reconstruct two-dimensional proton bunch densities using vertex distributions from LHC beam-beam scans. The x-y correlations in the beam shapes are studied and a luminosity calibration technique is introduced. The method is demonstrated using simulated beam-beam scans. We evaluate the impact of non-factorization features for beam shapes of double-Gaussian type.
