dc.description.abstract© 2020 The Authors Matsushima and Graybiel show that the birth dates of striatal projection neurons govern a center-surround organization in striosomes and the final destinations of their axons. These birth date-dependent controls seem to work in combination or in parallel with birth date-independent control of the final functional striatal sector in which they finally lie.
