dc.description.abstractThis thesis describe a lexical study of phoneme collocational constraints using a metric motivated by information theory. Phonologists have been describing the permissible combination of phonemes in the form of phonotactic rules. They have shown that these rules often can be expressed in terms of phoneme equivalence classes.en_US
