Rowe, Mary
Mary P. Rowe’s research and publications encompass a variety of topics encountered both in her career as an MIT Ombuds and as Adjunct Professor of Negotiation and Conflict Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management—topics ranging from the role and work of an organizational ombuds to harassment, micro-affirmations, and bystanders. (To learn more about Rowe’s work and writing, read either the short version of her bio or a more detailed Research and Publications biography.)
Publications by Subject
With generous support from Jean-Jacques (SM '93 and PhD '02) and Valeria Degroof, Rowe has organized this website as an online resource library that includes links to many of her articles and encompasses a wide range of topics relevant to conflict management and equity within organizations. Each page below contains a list of Rowe’s work on that subject, in reverse chronological order and with links provided to freely available versions of most of the articles. (Note: A number of publications are relevant to more than one subject and thus are listed on more than one page.)
In addition to the resources on this website, Rowe organized many materials and her own articles into two collections for the MIT Archives, one about her work in the Ombuds Office at MIT and one about the beginnings of the organizational ombuds profession.
